Another hard fought game by the mighty 2's,with forwards and backs combining well in the early exchanges.it took a while for Plain to get into any sort of rhythm,with Chipping Sodbury showing stubborn resistance in defence. But with the home teams forwards constantly battering away at the Sodbury line,it was only a matter of time before Plain scored,with a try by young Joe Hunt,which was to be one of two tries. There was only one more try scored in the first half, by Fly Halve,Shaun Newport which he converted himself to put the score at 12-nil going into the break.
The second half got under way much as the first had finished,with Broad Plain in total control. Sodbury tried to muster some form of attack ,time and again,but kept coming up against tough tackling centres Captain Robin Tremlett and his centre partner Ali Campbell.As Plain continued to dominate with Scrum Halve Zak Slocombe at the forefront of everything that was good about Broad Plains play,it was inevitable that they would score a total of 8 tries,with a brace by Flanker Danny Smith followed by Campbell,Dan Shucker,Tony Labruna and influential pack leader,Martin Smith. Plain had 8 replacements on the sideline with each one making a game changing impact when they came on to replace some,already tired bodies. Another fantastic display by the Super 2's.
