The lad’s first game was against an abrasive and often antagonistic team from Myther. The boys had seen them play and took to the pitch eyes wide open knowing there wouldn’t be much space to operate in and certainly no places to hide.
With every assault on the BP line the boys in black turned the ball over and used a combination of strong running, nifty footwork, deft offloading and sublime passing to carve their way through the opposition – still a little perplexed as to how they managed it on such a small pitch.
With each BP score the stakes got higher and the ‘afters’ were soon to follow! The increase in intensity spurred the lads on to one of their finest performances. In total they scored 7 tries to 1 and could hold their heads high knowing they stayed true to their values from start to finish.
With the MT fixture out of the way the BP and Hornets lads convened for a joint debrief before getting stuck into a competitive & soul restoring game of rugby. In a much more positive environment we got to see some on the ‘hoof’ creativity!!!
